Proposed Phases
HQ Panther Project is underway
Since the granting of planning permission in May, a group of parents has come together to form a fund raising team. The project launch officially took place at this year's Wythall carnival, with a previously unseen number of parents supporting the tea tent and BBQ stalls.
With the support of the leaders and scouts they have organised a Diary of Events for both the parents of the group and for the wider community. The diary for these can be seen on the fundraising pages of this web site. The big fundraiser for next year is a Lands End to John O'Groats cycle ride by three people associated with the group supported by the cub and scout leaders. This ride, of over 900 miles in 8 days, will start at next year's carnival.
The team are approaching local businesses, applying for grants, writing letters and organising events, with a target date of phase one starting summer 2010.
Our Beavers (6-8 yo), Cubs (8-101/2 yo), Scouts (101/2-14 yo) and Explorers (14-18 yo) in Wythall, have benefited from many activities over the years and this is something we are very proud of.
Please go to Contact Us if you would like to join either Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Explorers or would like details on how to become a Leader or Helper.
